Tudor Kings and Queens
Outline of the activity
As part of their work on the Tudors and Stuarts children were asked to choose a Tudor or Stuart monarch and using a range of materials find as much information as possible about them. They were then asked to select relevant information for inclusion in a Powerpoint presentation.
Skills Covered
The children used search and retrieval skills to gather information relevant to the topic. They presented their information in an appropriate style and format. The children were able to navigate CD ROMs selecting relevant information and using copy/paste to insert pictures and text into their presentations.
Rationale
The use of ICT was useful in providing a purpose and audience for the children’s research but also contributed to drafting of their writing in order to produce the finished presentations.
Result
The children were able to create interesting informative multimedia presentations, their ICT capabilities increased greatly copying and pasting text and pictures and using multimedia all within a class project.
