Letters to Santa

Pupils write letters to Father Christmas online at www.northpole.com to tell him what they would like for Christmas and a few days later they receive a reply.
Skills Covered
Children use the Internet and complete an on-line form. They revisit the Site and enter the Mailroom to receive a reply. Children write for a purpose and read their letters.
Rationale
An exciting Web Site to visit for young children where they find out about Santa and the North pole. The activity provides the opportunity for young children to use the Internet safely and they get a reply from Santa.
Result
After sending their e-mails to Santa, the children received a reply from Bif, the Mailroom elf and then two days later they receive an e-mail from Santa. All correspondence was put into a Class Book.
