How was it used?
The unit was used with a Year 3 class when studying the Celts and Romans.
The pupils worked as a class to read a story which contained quite complex language patterns for children of this age range. However breaking the patterns down and complementing the interactive resource with card activities and Pie Corbett techniques meant that the pupils coped really well with the story
Impact and Outcomes
- Allowing the pupils to add actions to the key words meant that they developed a deeper understanding of the text more quickly.
- The oracy skills of the class are improving tremendously through the use of this type of resource that lends itself so well to group and class work.
- The class were all engaged and keen to use the resources and cards activities
